Safe calorie intake?!


Question: On February 20th, I am 6 feet tall, i was 240 pounds, and today, i am 205 pounds, i have been working out almost every day, and doing tons of cardio I usually burn 800 - 1000 calories when i go, My senior prom is coming up May 10th and I want to look good, I have dropped my calorie intake to around 800ish a day, Is this a safe amount, ive had it there for 5 days, and my body seems to have adjusted to it, and ive been able to keep up my 800 - 1000 calories burned a day, and i have seen pretty rapid weight loss, I have been drinking lots of water to keep my fluids up.

Is it likely in my situation that i may accidentally put my body into starvation mode, i really don't want that, how much is the minimum i should eat before i go into starvation mode?

I don't know, but you are going to be sooo hot! WOW! I am impressed with what you have already done, don't get too slim, we love some muscles now. Do what you are doing, maybe a couple sit-ups and push-ups, to bulk you up a bit, I think 6 foot 190 is great! Takin in atleast 2000, maybe more, but if you're burning off that much, you need to eat. Without any exercise your bady will burn off 1700 each day, and you're adding 1000 to that. You're a guy, and for some reason unbeknownst to me, you guys have it a lil' easier (so it seems from the outside looking in), so you will probably be where you want to be by then. Play ball, that's cardio in itself. How slim do you want to be? Good Luck!

Party hard, SAFELY, but hard!

You are supposed to be eating at least 1200 calories a day. Here's the deal, eating 800 calories a day is going to get you to lose some weight, but then your body is going to start staving and your metabolism will fail you and you will quit losing weight. So you need to eat at least 1200 a day in order to keep it up. The best way to calculate is to take your weight and multiply by 7 and eat that many, but never below 1200.

that's good that's what i do and I'm 13 and weigh like 128. sucks but yea less then 1000 is my intake. and at school when i get hungry i eat a 100 calorie pack its good. don't eat out its unhealthy

You are burning more than you are eating which is causing a rapid weight loss, but keep in mind that if you have been working out you may have gained muscle and muscle weighs more than fat, you should prbly be about 180 pounds, but make sure you arn't eating 4 slices of pizza a day and calling it good, eat healthy foods and the lowest you should allow your body is 1500 calories, expecialy becuase you are working out, your body will go into starvation mode if you continue like this for 10 days or more, or less becuase of how much you are burning off.

calories, fat and nutrients arnt just there to determine how much you weigh. They play an imprtant role. A big boy needs alot of calories to keep his heart pumping, and his lung, liver and kidneys functioning. You need your nutrients to have nice skin, hair and nails, be able to walk, talk or control your body.
I think a low, but healthy amount to eat for a man of your size is about 1600.
I know you may think i dont no what im talking about, but when i was fourteen i had cancer and after chemo finished, i got an ilness in my stomach. It meant i could absorbe calories nutrients and fat. I lost 84lbs in 3 months. at first it was great because i was a big girl in the first place.
but then i coulnt control my body, my arms, legs and face would go into spasm and i would be poweless. I couldnt walk... i didnt have the energy to hold my body, my hair ( that had just grown back from chemo) fell out again... my skin went dry and flakey, and to top it off my kidneys packed in and my skin was getting rid of my urine through my skin.. i litrelly peed out of my pores... i stunk!!!
so i know first hand what serious calorie reduction can so to you and its not pretty.

You can go to www.webdietsuccess.com and there is a cool tool where you can enter your height, weight, etc.. and come up with a daily calorie intake that is healthy!
