Is it better to work out in the morning before or after you eat breakfast?!


Question: im considering working out in the mornings now, because i went from weighing 130.2 lbs to 132.2lbs in this week, and im 18, 5'9, and i wanna get real skinny.
i eat okay now, i mean, im not a salad loving guy or all that healthy stuff. i eat 4-5 things a day, not meals, things a day...

so yea i was wondering if i wake up at 6 in the morning, should i go run, then eat breakfast, or eat breakfast, then run and burn it off.

ALWAYS WORK OUT BEFORE BREAKFAST!!! alot of people will say it doesnt matter or to eat first. but in order to burn fat the FASTEST, exercise first and eat after. Here is why:

if you eat first, you have alot of glycogen (stored carbohydrates) in your body. then when you go to exercise, the first 20-30 minutes are spent emptying your body of glycogen. meaning all your doing is burning off the food you just ate. then you have to spend another 30 minutes of exercise to actually burn your body fat. you have to spend an hour of running to actually lose weight

when you exercise first, your body is empty and has no glycogen to use (burn) for energy. it has no choice but to immediatly tap into your fat stores. this means that you only have to run for 30 minutes to lose the same amount of weight as above. more efficiency in less time.

Exercising the the morning is much more beneficial to your body than any other time throughout the day and eating breakfast afterwards benefits your workout.

eat after you run

if u can handle exercising on an empty stomach, u will burn more fat before eating then if u didn;t eat....

its cool..

After - you have nutrients and fuel to power your workout, and if you work out after, you're burning off what you just ate.

If you go before, your body may dip in to its muscle in order to fuel your workout - BAD.

I would say after breakfast. The one time I tried running before breakfast I couldn't even finish my run because I felt naucous and my stomach hurt so bad...I think it must have been from having no food in my stomach.

Before, that would burn you fat better to lose weight, if you want to build muscle eat first and wait an hour before you work out

If you can manage it, run before you eat. Your body will be fasting (hence breakFAST...breaking a fast). You'll burn more fat stores than food consumed.

its best to work out before u eat. i think thats because u eat into the fat quicker in the morning after not eating overnight so u burn more fat that way. i get up early to work out most days. out running at 5 sometimes lol.

I was in health this semester and my health profressor said eating before or after all depends on you. Just as long as you are not eating like A LOT of food you should be fine.
