I'm 5 ft 2.5 inches and 130 lbs. does that make me fat?!

Question: i already know that technically, i'm in a healthy weight for my height, but what do you personally think? would you think somebody with my height and weight would look fat?

Answers: i already know that technically, i'm in a healthy weight for my height, but what do you personally think? would you think somebody with my height and weight would look fat?

Most people that are within their "healthy" BMI do not look fat. In fact, people can technically have an "overweight" BMI (not "obese" category) and STILL not look fat, although technically they are not as healthy as they could be. So without seeing you, I would guess, probably not!!

The harshest critics of our bodies are usually ourselves, unfortunately. So while you may look fat to yourself, unless you are actually overweight, chances are you don't look fat to anyone else! Also, there are many different preferences that people have as to looking curvy, pencil thin, etc. - often younger girls tend to think that curves are "fat" b/c they're not used to them yet, but as they get older they often become something that they really like about themselves! And so do their boyfriends & husbands!

Interestingly, your weight doesn't necessarily reflect how you look, because people who exercise have more muscle and therefore look thinner even though they actually weigh MORE.

Finally, your BMI doesn't measure one thing at all - your body fat %. Most nutritionists think that this measurement - which you can get taken at most gyms or from a less-reliable Target scale - are the most accurate measure of your health. So if you're going for health, check that out!

I hope that you can accept yourself for who you are, because there is nothing wrong with thinking that you are beautiful at ANY weight!!! And, it's healthy for everyone to exercise and watch what they eat in moderation, so that we can all live to be 100 :)

The normal weight for a 5 4' person is 125 lbs. So you're pretty normal. If you want an exact answer, then show a picture.

Its normal... You dont need to worry about being overweight its called being a healthy. I personally think being healthy is better than being stick thin.

230 would make you fat.

I think young ladies should stop worrying about their weight and gain some self-esteem. Your self-image and inner strength are more important than what weight you are.

No, it does not make you fat, but it is the top of the healthy range for your stature. You could be 10 to 15 pounds lighter and remain within the weight range for a long and healthy life.
