Could I gain the weight in 1 month if ate 1800 calories per day?!

Question: So after 1 year diet I started to eat as a normal person, 1800 calories for teen is the best choice. I burn more calories than eat,in previous week I have burned extra 3500 calories. I've also heart about water weight, but my cheeks got slight bigger. Scales shows that I've gained 1 pound. What's going on?How can I maintain my weight?

Weight always goes slightly up and down. Throughout the day and throughout your menstrual cycle you will see changes in your weight.

What is normal? Well, it depends on your age. Go to this link: http://pediatrics.about.com/library/bl_c... and enter the details. It will tell you how many calories you require per day to be healthy.

I hope that helps.... Remember, if in doubt, drop caffeinated drinks, eat more fruit and be active :)

I found, over the years, that sitting on my backside doing as little as possible helps the weight increase with me... unfortunately I am now classed as obese...! Ah, well. Be happy you can eat whatever you like without gaining too much.

no

Muscle? have you been working out with stregnth training sorts of things? also, you might have a naturally very low basal metabolic rate maybe?

I don't know your exact age but for teens whose bodies are growing fast (13 - 17 years old) dieting is a very delicate business because at that time the body needs extra protein, fat, minerals and vitamins to build up all the new muscle, bone and all other tisues. Dieting could interfere with that fast body building.

Assuming even that your teen growth has ended I would say 1800 calories even for a female teen is too low. You need around 2200 calories (males need more) for a lazy non physically active style.

A one pound weight gain doesn't really mean anything it could be due to having eaten or drank a little bit more than usual the day before weighing. It's the weight in the digestive system not really fat.

Finally perhaps you don't count your calories correctly and you get more than you think though in your case it's better to go over your 1800 calorie target to around 2200.
