Well dude, if you want to gain muscle and lose weight your gonna to have a hard time. Typically, muscle is heavier than fat. So if you weight train you will in fact gain weight. A good weight for your age and height is around 150. So in theory you have about 50 pounds to lose. At 15 it is sort of shocking to be 200. Is there something in your life style making you slightly overweight? Maybe stop eating so late at night or start eating breakfast. A great way to lose weight is eat many small meals throughout the day. Running, swimming, even walking are all great ways to burn calories. If you are serious about getting healthy feel free to ask me some more questions! I've got a wealth of knowledge about losing weight! Good Luck -Alan

I'd love to tell you how much weight you need to lose, but I can't. Weight varies a lot from person to person. What might be the perfect weight for one person is overweight or underweight for another.

At 5'9, your weight should be around 150+/- lbs.

In order to gain muscles, you have lose weight first.

Calculate your BMI (from the link below) to a weight where you are in the normal zone.

probuly need to loose 20 poundss i geuss idk?
lol

i ahve friends who are 14 and 220 they only bench around 100 and are pretty muscular, how much u can bench isnt much of an indicator and good idea would be go to your health care provider, doctor, and ask whats the norm for a 15 year old male about 5'9

Just eat healthy and work out and maybe try to work off about 10 pounds.

you need to be 160 pounds at the least the most is 180

Well, if your almost six foot...and you weight 200 pounds...you don't have too much to lose.

If your lifting...don't think of it as losing fat...think of it as turning your fat into muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat...so keep working out, eating healthy and maybe drink a protein shake every once in awhile.

Good Luck!

I reckon lose maybe 40 pounds, and turn it into fat and youll be good. Ill also give you a hint about benchpress, if you want to get better at it, do heaps and heaps of pressups at home, everyday. Thats what I do and I can bench 154-176lb and i only weigh 149lbs

i think at 15 and 5'9 i think you have to be 150 or less, or maybe 170

Look at your measurements, that will help you tell whether you are loosing weight or muscle. If you are overweight, even loosing just a bit is really good for your body, so be happy with whatever accomplishments you make.
