muscle weighs more than fat and you have gained more muscle. Do you look thinner and are your clothes looser? This always happent to me and it used to make me depressed but don't stress, go by your clothes fitting better rather than what the scales say. Well done you for making the effort - it pays off - believe me!

maybe you just weighed yourself at a strange time or something.. what have you been doing in the gym?.. what machines/how long for..?

The question is, what are you doing at the gym?

If you are walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes and nothing else, you aren't going to lose any weight.

You need to meet with a personal trainer (a good one, not just a buffed counter person who can train themselves, but someone who really can assist you.) Once you work out a good routine, you can get on the road to losing weight.

Don't stop going, no matter what! Good luck!

Don't be discouraged because trying to loose weight in the beginning is always the hardest. Try adjusting your diet.

Here is an example of what I eat:
breakfast: egg whites with whole grain bread
am snack: nuts
pm: sandwich with light mayo, or chicken salad (no croutons)
pm snack: nuts
dinner: salmon with veggies, or salad and low sodium soup

If you eat about 5 small meals a day, your metabolism will increase and the fat will melt away in no time.

It's probably because you are gaining muscle not weight. Take a measurement tape and measure your arms, waist, butt, stomach, chest, and inner thigh. Go by those measurements not by the weighing scale.
