First, I looked up your BMI, and it said you are in the higher ranges of what is considered healthy weight for your size. Your healthy range is 97lbs to 132lbs.

I suggest you join SparkPeople.com-- they'll tell you how many calories you should have a day. I'm between 1200-1500, myself. I don't really have a hard time getting full-- I charted my calories the other day and this is what I ate:

breakfast:
Kashi cereal (it's good, and good for you)
skim milk

lunch:
peanut butter and jelly on wheat (reduced fat peanut butter, regular jelly)
sunchips
a chunk of cheddar cheese
water

midday snack:
cup of milk
Nabisco 100 calorie Chips Ahoy granola bar (very good)

Dinner:
salad with chicken

Dessert:
fat free kettle korn

I just ate smaller portions of healthier food spaced throughout the day, and I only had about 1300 calories.

I suggest you go shopping, here are my favorite things:
-Kashi cereals: GoLean Crunch, Autumn Harvest, Heart to Heart
-Reduced fat peanut butter
-Orowheat Omega 3 and Flax Wheat bread (it's delicious)
-turkey, chicken, fish
-FRUITS!
-Salad stuff!!
-Fat free Ice cream (Breyers has a chocolate/with chocolate cookie pieces that is great... orange sherbet is good too)
-Lite Hershey's syrup
-100 calorie granola bars (on cereal aisle)
-protein water

Good luck!!

I don't know the answer to your main question.. but as for the "and almost very hard to get enough calcium and protein"... I eat Special K (PROTEIN) cereal and drink Special K Protein Water ... and take calcium suppliments ...

Ideal weight around 110 lbs.
Consult a nutritionist, Go to the gym consult a trainer.

A rule of thumb that I have always used is to multiply your ideal weight times 10, and that's how many calories you should eat each day to lose weight. So actually, your 1200 figure is a little high. It is possible to get by with 1000 - 1200 calories a day. A key to success is choosing foods that are somewhat filling without having a lot of calories. For example, oatmeal and skim milk makes a good breakfast, and you won't be starving by 10:00. Drinking a glass of skim milk along with lunch helps fill you up and provide great nutrition at only 90 calories. Soup is also a good lunch food, as the liquid is bulky and makes you feel full. But, bottom line is you are going to feel hungry, at least at the beginning of your diet.

I'm not sure what the ideal weight for 5'1" is - I would guess around 110. It somewhat depends on your build.

Good luck!

Actually, I was reading somewhere that the way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat and that makes sense to me. So no matter how many calories you take in, you have to burn more by exercising. I think the average daily calorie intake should be around 2000 (I think, I could be wrong) and it also depends on how fast you want to lose.
