Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder of nervous origin. It begins with the idea that you are fat. Then you begin to see yourself as being heavier than you really are and you look at your body as being "mis-shappen." This psychological change can then cause food avoidance that anorexia is famous for. Self-starvation due to poor body image is not necesisarily measured in loss of pounds. Per someones behaviors, food aversions, negative-self statements, resulting medical problems and weightloss a doctor can determine if someone is anorexic or not. Someone does not decide to be anorexic one day and then doesn't eat for a month. Without the nervous mental illness, the eating disorder could never be followed through with. Therefore, I doubt a healthy person just wanting to lose weight could go an entire month without eating anything at all without slipping.

Secondly, it depends on your medical history, the rate of your metabolism and other critical factors. Chances are, you will lose muscle tone but not dramatically reduce your weight, especially if you are overweight right now. Without food, there is nothing to give you energy to burn off the fat you already have in your body. Without food, there is absolutely nothing to turn your metabolism on each day. You most likely will end up in the hospital worse for ware, with little weightloss.

Diet and exercise are the key. Drink lots of water and eat fruits and vegitables. These things are a lot healthier and a lot more pleasant than just not eating. Plus, you'll lose a lot more weight that way.

did you know its harder to starve yourself than it is to exercise? So just exercise...you will lose more weight, be healthier and happier.

Don't go anorexic. Thats plain nasty and it could kill you!! Join some sports and limit the junk you eat!

That is an aufull question. I think that they SHOULD eat. It can make them get sick, or even die if they dont eat for a month!! And if this is YOU that your talking about, DONT do it!!

your body will go into survival mode and then start strong fat you wont lose youll gain. try alli it works do it with weightwatchers, i lost 27 pounds in 2months you have to excercise too!

i'm sorry hunn i can't answer that if your goign to become anorexic

If you didn't eat for a month, you would die. And you would loose weight, you would gain it because you body starts taking nutrients from your fat cells and using them to give yourself nutrients. You eventually would loose weight but you would much more unhealthy than weighing 200 Ibs. Dieting and exercise really help. Cut back on food portions and don't eat junk. Only eat if your hungry. And take a walk and ride your bike, you'll see improvement. :)

Really, it's easier and healthier just to excersize and eat right. Anorexia will mess up your life. It really will. You'll be on the edge of dying for 7 years or more. You may even die, but if you are lucky, you won't but you will still be suffering for the rest of your sife. You will have absolutley no power to even walk. Just excersize and eat right. It's good for you, doesn't kill you, gives you a huge amount of energy and is easier then going annorexic. Annorexics lose alot of weight and it's horroble for you. Fatal. Don't ever do it.

It just depends if theyre a true ana/mia.You could drop it rather quickly but as soon as you give in your guna gain soo much more back. Its healthier to diet and excersize. But to answer ur Question.Maybe 10 tops.

well for as much as i know about eating disorders/anorexia from my own experience, you dont loose weight right away. actually, if you just stop eating in all, your metabolism stops, and your stomache holds on to the fat, because it can feel that its going into starvation mode. you obviosly will not loose anything but water weight, and then probably binge, and gain more fat and just loose muscle mass. its better to stert slowly... figuring out all the calories in all foods, and running away from refined flour and sugar. But im not here to give tips on how becoming anorexic, for i was one, once myself. Just stick to a low fat, high protien and fiber diet with lots of fruits and vegies... it might take a while, but the results will last foever.;-) good luck

back to basics: no anorexic would go a month without eating at all. people with this eating disorder tend to be very smart when it comes to nutrition- they know the ins and outs of every food and they know which foods and nutrients they need (and in what quantities) to maintain body functioning at the bare minimum. not eating for a month would deplete a body of vital nutrients- eg: potassium, magnesium and calcium for heart rhythm, and an anorexic would know how to manipulate their diet to provide just the essential nutrients and no more. not eating for a month would also slow down the body's metabolism and create some form of metabolic acidosis- which could kill a person.

if someone weighed in at 200 pounds- and that was above the healthy BMI, eating a more balanced and nutritious diet (eg: LOTS of water, fruit, vegetables, etc) along with moderate cardio exercise at least 3 times (but preferably more like 4-5) every week would induce greater weight loss than not eating for a month. i promise.

If you want to lose weight, learn how your body works. Anorexia is not an easy way to lose weight, it's a mental illness that has more to do with control than getting thin.

If you want fast results join a gym and do weights - muscles burn calories and you will very quickly feel your body changing, which is great motivation.
