I'm not eating enough!?!

Question: I'm trying to lose weight, and I'm eating very healthy foods. I keep a food journal and when I add up the day's calories, I usually get under 1000!!! I know that this can't be healthy! I must be killing my metabolism. But the thing is, I'm never hungry! How can I eat more without overeating?

Try to get in a couple hundred more calories. Like make your daily calorie in take 1500 but then burn like 300 a day exercising. Thats what I did and I lost my weight. But you have to gradually inrcrease your calories as you get more active cause then your body needs more energy.. Good luck

you shoud eat alot of celery because it burns more calories eating it then there is in it!!!!!
so its kinda like excercise when you think of it!!!

force ure self i do tht aswell am on a diet aswell, just eat soming u like or eat hi calorie cheese

ok your basic needs are rice bread bannas applesauce and water try it you will loose and fell more energy

You really should eat at least 1200 calories to keep your metabolism running. If you're eating a lot of fat free stuff, try adding some whole fat foods, such as cheese or cottage cheese to get in a few more calories.

my big problem is eating enough calories. I can eat vegetables and fruit and be satisfied. I have to plan my meals ahead of time. 3 meals with around 400 calories and 3 snacks of 120 calories. if my meal has more or less calories, then I plan my snack to make up for it.

Jennifer T,

1000 calories is definitely not enough. Try throwing in a protein shake in between breakfast and lunch. Also have another snack in between lunch and dinner. This should get the metabolism burning.

Any other questions message me....
Hope this helps,

eat high cal healthy foods, like peanut butter, couple squares dark chocolate etc
they won't make you feel like you've eaten loads more/ too full
but they'll bump up your calories

the best thing to do is eat high calorie healthy foods. youll get all your daily calories but you wont feel full. Nuts are good for healthy fats and so are avacados, olive oil and eggs. good on you for doing it the healthy way.

First off, you really need to watch I CAN MAKE YOU THIN!!! You do not have to count calories, you do not have to watch what you eat,

#1 When your hungry Eat
#2 Eat what you want
#3 Eat Consciously ( chew your food up good, put your fork or food down after every bite and really enjoy it)
#4 When you think your full Stop Eating

You will find that you will eat less, but the great thing about this is, it speeds up your metabolism. You will loose weight without killing your self with HEALTHY FOOD, you need the calories, you need carbs and you need some fats, If you follow those simple rules you will be a huge success! Trust I am on it and have already lost 35 lbs!

Remember starving your self will make you fat!

Well, if you're not concerned about eating too many calories at this point, eat peanut butter. It's very healthy too. I would reccomend natural peanut butter. If you don't like the taste, mix it with jelly. I have it every morning.

I think the most important thing is regular times.
Like breakfast a seven, lunch between 1 and 2 o'clock, and dinner at half past seven or eight o'clock.
And if you keep that up for a long time you'll get hungry at those times and you'll want to eat. THis way you won't overeat.
And keep a journal of the snacks you eat.
But seeing your trying so hard to live healthily I'm sure it'll work out.

Your definately not eating enough, and your correct, thats killing your metabolism. Try eating more soft foods, such as applesauce, or grapes (which are both healthy) Nuts are also good for you... you could keep a little bag of nuts in your purse and munch on some every now and then.

It's difficult when you don't feel hungry - but you must eat more.

Choose a food that you really really like to eat and then keep it handy so that you can snack on it.

Soup is also a good way of getting more calories, and is low fat - makes some onion soup or tomato soup and carry it around in a thermos and then you can drink it instead of a coffee or tea.

Best Wishes
