If I cut out both bread and potatoes from my diet...where would I get my fibre?!

Question: from and would cutting out these two items help with my weight loss programme.

Answers: from and would cutting out these two items help with my weight loss programme.

Good sources of fiber are leafy vegetables, fruits, and legumes (beans and lentils). Here's a good reference for the fiber (and calorie) content of a variety of foods:

Beans and pulses,,but all veg contains fibre to a point,,

fruit and vegetables and grains like oats and brown rice

legumes are a good source like lentils or you can eat edamame. brown rice is a good idea as well. If you are just concerned about taking your #2's then you should just eat corn. I know that whenever i eat at Chipotle i get cleared out. hope that helps.

you should gave a sensible balanced diet.

yes you will definitely loose weight, but it is not just those two items.. you also need to cut down on other stuffs like bread, oils (butter, etc)and other dairy products.. you can get your fibre from oatmeals, green leafy veggies (of course without the mayo on the side), beans.. for energy booster, have a meal that is high in protein as well like meat (without the fat and the oil)...

may as well join the cows in the fields and chew on the grass, have fun

Fruit and veg

If you are worried that you are not getting enough fiber in your diet, eat a bowl of all-bran in the morning, it's low calorie enough not to damage your weight loss.

good sources are broccoli, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, onions, peas, avocado pear, oranges, pears, nuts, seeds, pulses, wholegrain breakfast cereals, to name but a few!

Cereals, muesli and pasta contain plenty of fiber.

Fruit and vegetables contain plenty of fiber as well as plenty of roughage.

Balance. You really do not need to cut those two things out of your diet, there are far too many silly fads around at the moment. Baked potatoes with baked beans, tuna or cottage cheese are actually great for a dieter as they keep you full for a good long time and help prevent snacking on more fattening things.

Wholewheat/wholemeal bread is also very good and filling in limited amounts, and you can get low calorie varieties like nimble and weightwatchers.

It is fries/chips that need to be avoided, and white pasta, white bread, white rice etc.

Go for wholewheat, high fibre versions of these things and you will find dieting a lot easier. It is the fats you need to watch and calories as opposed to carbohydrates.

Beans, pulses, lentils, fruit and veg!
