Water exercises to lose weight???

I am trying to lose a few pounds before my wedding. I just got a pool (large above ground)... and would like to utilize it to lose weight.... instead of going to the gym... or running outdoors in this heat.

Does anyone know of any exercises that REALLY work.... not only to lose a few pounds but to tone up?

Lol, you have a pool, do what's natural, SWIMMING. I'm a swimmer and I can tell you that swimming is one of the most if not the most high calorie burning exercises. Depending on your intensity you can burn 700 calories in an hour. Try to learn all 4 strokes, Butterfly, Backstroke, Freestyle, and Breaststroke. You can also try treading water and if you want make it difficult by holding you arms straight out.

If your pool is at least like 15 feet you can swim laps. And for the fact of the matter swimming does more than just "tone." It builds endurance, it strengthens your core immensely, which is the basis on all your movements. It builds up strength in your shoulders and your back while all at the same time being lenient on your joints.
