How much longer will it take for me to BEGIN to lose weight???!

Question:

How much longer will it take for me to BEGIN to lose weight???

I have been exercising for about 4 weeks now, at least 4 times a week. And the scale still says 180. I am so frustrated!!! I just had a baby 4 months ago and I gained like 35 pounds. I started working out intensely 4 wks ago and I see no change. I still where the same size and the same weight. What am I doing wrong? I workout at a gym: 20 - 25 minutes of elliptical. And 30 minutes of weights for my thighs, stomach, and arms.

I also have been watching how I eat. Although I still need work in that area

I always tell people that the weight starts to come off about the time they're ready to give up. I'd say you're right on track to begin seeing results. Do your clothes really not feel any different? I know reading the scale is the obvious thing, but muscle weighs more than fat, so if you've been building muscle from your workouts, your weight may drift up a little or stay the same while your pants starts to feel a little looser. Try to work up to about an hour 5 or 6 times a week.

Eating right is also a CRITICAL piece of the formula. A lot of sugar and high fat foods can really defeat you in your efforts. Drink lots of water too.

Keep it up, your body will respond soon. Don't get desperate, don't give up. I totally understand where you're at. I had close to the same experience myself. Once the weight started to come off it just seemed to melt. I lost 50 lbs over about 5 months, without losing more than 2 or 3 lbs the first month. I have kept it off for 6 years now. Good luck to you, I know you can do it!
