Is tea a hydrator as much as water?!

Question: Is tea a hydrator as much as water!?
I know we should all drink lots of water, but I HATE drinking it most of the time!. I love iced tea and I make it with tea bags and use splenda as the sweetener!. Water is best, I know, but having to force myself to drink it instead of the tea actually upsets my stomach and makes me nauseous!. I drink some water and have cut out almost all soda (diet) except for one at dinner time!.

I stick to a low sodium diet (most of the time lol) and I am sensitive to salt even in small amounts!. So I retain water mostly in my feet!.

What are your thoughts!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Many say tea is very good for you for a variety of reasons!. Cafiene is really the dehydrator!.

Choose herbal teas, as they have sometimes no caffiene or trace amount!. I like the lemon or berry varieties as they are really tasty and not strong at all!.

Also, have you tried adding lemon to your water!? This often can make it more palatable!.

You do not have to drink only water to be hydrated!. Often as a RN, I tell patients to drink fluids low in caffeine and if you have to have something like a soda or coffee, do it in moderation!.

You will know your hydrated when your urine is pale yellow or lighter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not if it contains caffeine, it's a diuretic!. diuretics elevate the rate at which you urinate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tea actually pulls water from your body!.

but I know someone like you who hates drinking water and believes drinking anything is better than drinking nothing and I have to agree!. !. !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is the tea caffeinated or decaf!. Caffeine is a diuretic meaning it flushes water out of your body and not helpful if you are trying to remain hydrated!. Why don't you try to get some crystal light and put it in your water!? Also try some lemon slices in your water or some cucumber slices and see if that helps the taste for you any!. If you still can't stomach it, at least you are getting something from the tea and it's better for you than a lot of other things out there!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have it right!.!.!.!.!.but I would love to suggest you use a natural sweetener instead of something toxic like Splenda!. (Do the research, you might be surprised!)

I don't know if you can get a product called "Stevia" where you live but it's all natural and is even a source of fiber!

No, I don't sell it!.!.!.!.sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get the Crystal Light "on the go" flavors that you add to bottled water!. They come in a lot of different flavors now!. I think they even use Splenda!.

Tea is a dehydrator!.!.!.!.unless it's decaf!.

Check the nutrition labels on the foods that you do eat!.!.!.!.!.a lot of them have sodium/salt that you really don't need!. If you continue to retain fluid in your feet, you should see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Since you love your Splenda-sweetened tea so much, maybe you could get decaffeinated tea bags to make your tea with!. The only problem with regular tea as a hydrator is that it contains caffeine, which is a diuretic, and makes you actually lose water from your body!.

Check the sodium content of your diet soda also -- some are better than others in the sodium department -- and someone as sensitive to it as you may benefit from a lower-sodium soda!

Also, there are many "flavor agents" such as Crystal Light and flavored waters on the market!. I really like the flavored seltzer waters -- I love the carbonation and the flavors and there are no calories, sugar, caffeine, sodium, etc!

Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tea has caffine in it, which is a dieretic, which in short makes you pee!.!.!.and thus dehydrates you!. Anything with caffine dehydrates you, which is obviously not what you want!.

Although herbal teas such as jasmine tea don't have any caffine so you might wanna try those!

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tea has caffeine!. NOT as much as coffee, but it is a diuretic, so you should drink water with your tea!. Water retention in your feet is a sign of poor circulation!. You need to get out and walk!. I'd have a doctor check you out first though!. If you are sensitive to salt, you may be sensitive to sugar replacements too!. I take it you have high blood pressure!? Try adding a squirt of lemon to your water to make it more palatable!. With high blood pressure you don't want any salt, caffine, or sugar substitutes in your diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

get rid of the splenda, some salt is good -stay away from processed foods, and drink decaf tea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hmmm!.!.!.

Well, as far as I know, tea (depending on the amount of caffeine it has) ISN'T an equal to water in hydration!.

If you can't drink water, drink flavored water (Propel, Gatorade) or make your own drink (Crystal Light, Kool-Aid)

Plus, it depends on what type of tea!. Green tea has the least amount of caffeine; black tea probably has the most!.

So no, tea isn't the equal of water for hydration!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if the tea has caffeine it actually work as a diuretic ( kind of like a water pill) so it can dehydrate you !. if is decaf then yes it can work as hydrator!. also you can try flavor water or crystal light !.!. to avoid water retention ask your doctor to prescribe something water retention can be a sign of high blood pressure!. hope my advise helps you

Tea is more of a dehydrator!.

Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day!. Include plenty of vegetables and fruits in ur food!. Eat slow, chewing each morsel at least 32 times!. This activates ur body to send signals that u have enough!. No snacks or drinks in between except water!.

Take light exercises and walking for about 30 min every day preferably twice a day!.

Be patient to see the results in hassle free mode in reasonable time!. Good maintenance practice also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yup!. Pretty much!.

It is as good a hydrater!. The Chinese are thin and never drink water!. They drink tea all the time!. Drink decaf green tea!. But artificial sweeteners and sugar are very bad for you!. Drink it unsweetened or use raw honey, dried cane juice, barley malt or stevia to sweeten it!. See site below for more tips like this!. You do not ever need to drink water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No,Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only herbals and even then it counts as half a serving of water!. No sugar either!.
Caffine dehydrates the body!.

You feel like that when you drink water because you're dehydrated! A few days of drinking it slowly will help!. Do a few glasses a day to get your body used to it!. Within a week you'll be craving it!.

A great tip, use fresh fruit slices and ram then in your bottle of water! Strawberries, oranges, kiwi, cucumbers even!. Best way to add some fun to your water without artificial sweeteners!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, tea contains caffeine, so it will not hydrate as effectively as water!. I also am not crazy about drinking water, but I force myself to drink it!. if you're going to drink tea, then drink green tea, which also contains caffeine, but has numerous other health benefits!.
Please stop using splenda, not good for you!. Safe sweetener alternatives are stevia or xylitol!.
I have provided some links below with relevant information on these topics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just keep it decaf and you will be okay

The amount of water you actually get from tea and coffee infact, more than outweighs the diuretic effect it induces, the same goes for alcoholic drinks!. THe only drink in the world that dehydrates us is salt or sea water!. You also don't need to 2 litres that most people think you need, that figure was given by a group of scientists/nutritionists in the 1960s, and while they said you need 2 litres of water, they also included the water found in an average daily amount of food!. We only need to drink an extra half litre to reach that 2 litre target, and that water can be obtained from tea and coffee!. Even if it does produce a slight diuretic effect, your body gets used to it and you will not need to go to the toilet so often after about a week!.

Edit: After hiking 50 miles, it was my friend who almost became dangerously dehydrated, me and 4 other friends were drinking tea and coffee all day and felt fine!. Water may hydrate us better, but if you are dealing in half litres and litres, there really isn't that much of a difference!.

If you drink a cup of tea or coffee, the caffiene will only cause you to loose a tiny fraction of the amount in water from your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, caffeine will dehydrate you!.

Try this:

in your fridge, keep a couple of of pitchers of water with a bunch of your favourite fruit cut up in it!. I use melons, sometimes mixed berries, mint leaves ( really good), or citrus!. The flavour of the fruit will infuse themselves into the water and you will have e great treat!.

In the summer, and I know this sounds wierd, but cutting up a cuke and steeping it in your water is really refreshing, too!Www@Answer-Health@Com
