Nuts are brilliant for you and yes you are right they contain essential fatty acids(EFA's) which are more commonly known as the good fats in our diet which we dont seem to get alot of these days due to all the processing that goes on with our foods!. Its a good idea to have no more than a handful a day rather than a bag full(easier said than done) iknow!. Stay clear of peanuts as they have higher fat content as you dont want to much fat in your diet either!. Go NUTS every day!.!.!.!.!.!. :) good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
Nuts are fantastically healthy!. They may have fats but like you said its good fats and they're also stuffed with other vitamins and nutrients!. I eat nuts everyday and since I incorporate them into my daily intake they dont make me gain weight!. The whole point in eating is providing your body with fuel and nutrients and nuts are full of them! Obviously cos of the calories you shouldnt go overboard but deffinately dont stop eating them!. they are good, but very high in calories!. Do not eat more than, say, 50 grams at once!. The caloric value varies from about 400 to 600 and more per 100 grams!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Nuts are a good snack, in moderation!. It doesn't matter if they are raw or dry roasted!. Do try to stay away from the fried nuts, and try to find the light salt varieties!.
I'm not sure why you are turning to nuts for carbs and protein!. Almonds (a good nut) for instance are 13% protein, 15% carbs, and 72% fat!. A ham sandwich on wholewheat bread with a little mustard has more protien and carbs, and less fat!. It would also fill you up better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
