Please break down carbs for me?! (no pun intended)?!

Question: Please break down carbs for me!?! (no pun intended)!?
Hi everyone, i have always been confused about the whole carb debate when u are trying to watch your weight!. i have heard to cut it out totally, or to limit yourself!. i have also heard that it converts to sugars in your system if u eat to many so what is the deal and can i still have my carbs if i am watching my weight!?

Im asking because i stick to a 1600 calorie diet and i have been for years, but i am addicted to carbs!. I love wheat pastas and breads, multi grain and rye too, (hate white bread)!.

Any help would be nice, thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it's kinda tricky and confusing, so i'll try to simplfy this!. in general, any excess calories that you take in are stored as fat!. the thing with carbs is that it's easy to do!. there are two kinds, simple and complex!. simple carbs are sugars (fruit included)!. they store as fat really easily!. the reason for that is because they're rapidly processed by your body, and your body usually doesn't need that much at one time, so it stores it as fat!. complex carbs: rice, bread, etc!. they take a long time for your body to break down, so that's good and bad!. if you eat them early in the day!.!.!.i'd say no later than 4pm, you should be ok!. however,, any later than that, and you'll be sleeping and not needing it, so you'll store!. also, even though you eat early, doesn't mean you wont store, because if you eat too much, you'll again end up storing it!. so, how much shoudl you eat!? probably 40% or so (or slightly less)!. the other being 40% protein and 20% fat (from a good source, not saturated)!. the good thing about wheat and brown rice is that they have fiber in them, which actually slows down digestion and therefore, releasing carbs/sugar slowly into your system, thus less likely to be stored as fat!.

when ii eat carbs for breakfast, it's usually either from oatmeal or cream of wheat--both very good sources!. then, i'll usually have a sandwhich on wheat bread for lunch!.!.!.and that will pretty much do it for my carb intake for the day!.!.!.although, i do go to bed pretty early!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The average person eats around 300-400 carbs, and is healthy (unless they are sugary things like candy, obviously)

Carbs are so confusing, but I am finally getting the hang of everything!. A diabetic person is told to eat 180 carbs per day!. Doing this alone will help you lose up to 2 pounds per week, or possibly more!. When you eat something carb-y, check the labels of things and do a simple math!. For example:

One cup of Kashi Go Lean cereal has 44 carbs, and 8 grams of fiber!. Fiber is a component of carbs, so the cereal has a total of 36 net carbs!.

Try to make sure that all of your carb foods contain fiber as well, this will help you minimize the bad carbs (SUGAR) and keep in good ones (FIBER!)

Going the route of no carbs works just fine, but its very difficult and can be unhealthy!. Carbs can be your best friend as long as you eat the right ones!. Its fantastic that you dont like white breads!. Generally anything that is white is terrible anyway (unless its a potato, in moderation)

I hope that this has helped you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Basically, stay away from sugar and other refined carbs and you are fine!. Pasta, mulit-grain and rye bread, fruits, and other complex carbs are very good for you!. Avoid white things!. Choose wheat bread over white bread, brown rice over white rice, sweet potatos over white potatos!.!.!.!.!.!.etc!. Basically, you should keep an eye on total carbs but complex carbs will help keep you feeling full longer and that will keep you from eating more!. I am diabetic and have to watch carbs so I was taught to eat this way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem is, most high carb foods are bad for you because of one carb type: sugar!.

If they don't have sugar, usually they are fine and fiber is a carb which help with digestion and wheats have lots of that!.

Just like fats!. It sounds like a bad word but it isn't!. Peanuts, fish fats, etc, are great for you!.

Avoid the sugar and you'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
