Caffeine = blood pressure raise?!

Question: Caffeine = blood pressure raise!?
I'm really confused - basically I've found a bunch of websites who all have mixed views on the effect of caffiene!.

"Despite previous controversy on the subject, most researchers now conclude that regular coffee and caffeine use has little or no effect on blood pressure"

"Caffiene does raise blood pressure"

How am I meant to tell who is right!? I'm thinking of taking a supplement which contains a LOT of caffiene, but I probably won't take it if it will have a really bad effect on my health!.

Does anybody know which of the claims is true!? Please let me know so I know whether to get my supplement pills or not! :)

BTW: I don't currently have high blood pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Supplements which contain a lot of caffeine work on the premise that they DO speed up your heart rate!. An increase in heart rate can cause a temporary increase in blood pressure!.
Pretty much, the whole idea behind the supplement is to cause your heart rate to spike so that you burn more calories keeping your heart going!.!. That's very different from having a couple cups of coffee here and there!.
Either way, there's people that react to caffeine and people that don't really experience any kind of heart rate increase!. Mine pretty much stays the same whether I have a couple cups of coffee or not!.
The diet supplement is meant to increase your Basal Metabolic rate or BMR!. For most people, if you add a zero after your weight that's about what your basal metabolic rate is, or, how many calories a day your body uses just staying alive without anything else factored in!. So, if you weigh 140 the various organs and other systems in your body use about 1400 calories a day to run and maintain!. Realistically, speeding up your heart rate is only one part of that BMR, so if you increase your heart rate by say 20% that won't mean you're burning 20% more basal calories as all body functions are tied into that, from digestion to cooling systems etc!.!.
In other words, if it doesn't dramatically spike your heart rate, you won't be burning many more calories!. If it does spike your heart rate, then you put your heart at risk!.!.
Either way, caffeine supplements for weight loss are pretty much useless!.!. If they're strong enough to actually make a noticeable difference then you're damaging your heart!.!.
You'd be much better off doing some weight training and adding on some muscle!.!. Each lb of muscle uses about 50 calories a day just to maintain!. Obviously it won't take too many lbs of muscle to seriously affect your metabolism in a positive way!. About 10 lbs of muscle (much smaller then 10 lbs of fat) will cause you to use about 500 more calories a day!.!. That's a lot more than any caffeine supplement can do safely!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ive read those also, basically when my Dad had it he was warned by the Dr not to drink to much!. I'm no expert but I cant see how Coffee knowing the effects it has cant raise blood pressure!. That's the problem with Medical advice on the Internet, you end up more confused then when you started!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are OK!.!.!. Caffeine rarely raised blood pressure very much in healthy people!. It is only people with renal issues (kidney) that they are worried about!.!.!.

With caffeine, your biggest worry is dehydration!. Meaning, if you are going to take allot of it, then make sure you drink allot of water!. Also, if you notice a vague pain in your lower back, then you know you need to drink more water!.!.!.

Good Luck and I Hope this helps!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

all I can tell you is my doctor told me to drink decaf to help control my blood pressure and it seems to workWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it will increase blood pressureWww@Answer-Health@Com

caffeine is bad for you as it raises your blood sugar levels!.!.!.so your pancreas will pump out insulin to fight this raise!.

it also gives palpitations of the heart & causes sweats, headaches & sometimes dizzyness!.!.!.!.!.it really is not a good thing to put into your body!.!.!.but most of us do it anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It increases your heart rate whilst your body fights to get rid of it!. It's the same with beer or drugs in that they stimulate the release of chemicals from the brain that make you feel good!. Of course there are side affects!. I stopped drinking coffee!. It's started to do my kidneys in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Caffeine does increase your heart rate, and obviously in big quantities this can't be good!. If you don't suffering from high blood pressure then I think this shouldn't be a problem taking the supplement!.

But to be sure you aren't doing yourself an long term damage have a chat with your doctor!. There might be alternatives to taking the supplement!.

Best of luck!.
