Question: I am 15 and can't get past a benching plateau of 200 pounds, how can i get past it!?

Dude! (did I just call you dude!?) well anyway, It's all mental my man!. If you can do five with 200 you can do one with 205!. Get the 205 for one then do it again and then do it again until you can't any more!. Warm up with a couple of light sets of 135 for about 4 or 5 reps just to get the blood flowing!.
Then Ramp Up!. Deep breaths a couple of caveman grunts for effect, drop down, slap yourself in the face to bring out the anger effect, thump yourself in the chest and say, You aint got nuthin' on me!!! This whole time you see yourself doing it!. There is no question in your mind that you are going to throw this weight through the ceiling like it's nothing!. No question in your mind at all!.
Bam! Lay back, bring the weight down touch your chest and explode into it!. squeeze the bar like it's putty and put your chest into it!. Throw it up, and rock it back on the pegs!.
Jump up and pound your chest like a gorilla and yell, "That's what I'm talking about!.
Now it's on your way to 300!.
We all get sticking points!. They're mental!. Bust through and your on your way!. Ramp up and you'll wish you had tried 215!. Once you get the 205 you'll be on to 210 and 215 and 225 in no time!. Something in your mind tells you you can't get past this when I know you can!. No one I know can do 200 for 5 but not 215 for one, once you do more you will know you can do more and you will never have a problem getting it again assuming you are not wore out from other exercises!.
I'm just getting back into it myself after a long layoff and I got stuck a few weeks ago at 225!. The next week I walked in and did 225 for 10 singles!. That's a single rep with a minute between each one!. Three days latter I could do 3 reps in a row!. I can't wait for my next bench day!.

Well that's a common problem i generally have the same kind of problem, but personally i think it is 75% in are minds, if you think you can do it you just might beable too!. I also found doing alot of push-ups helps alot in incresing your bench, like do a set of 10 or 15 push-ups between your tv commercalsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Okay i am a 13 year old girl turning 14 and deffintaly cant bench that much!. But, i know that my dad and my sisters boyfriend keeps benching the same weight for a while adding more reps and sets!. After a while im sure you'll be able to bench some more!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

thats a lot of weight!.!. good job first off!.!. but u have to stick with it!.!. u might want to stregthen ur triceps (in def exercises), do some incline benches too!.!. then when u strengthen ur triceps and do some inclines in like a few weeks, ull pass 200!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

take some creatine!. it will make your muscles reapir quicker and you can lift more weightWww@Answer-Health@Com
