Will I look "manly" if I do strength exercises?!

Question: Will I look "manly" if I do strength exercises!?
I know that its said that men generally have an easier time losing weight becuase they have more muscle on their bodies than women do!. Well I'm 60lbs overweight! I've tried weight watchers, slim fast, and just about every other program out there!. The only one I had any luck with was weight watchers!. I lost 7lbs the first 3 weeks and then for 8 weeks lost nothing!. I'm only 20 years old and I really dont have the money to keep spending on special foods and diet programs, so I'm off to try out the good old fashion eating healthy (I've seen a nutritionist and know what i need to eat) and increasing my exercise!.

Will lifting light weights make me buff!? I dont want to look masculine, but I do want to gain some muscle (i hear its good for weight loss)!.

My boyfriend and I went on a 3 hour hike up a mountian yesterday, i felt it in my calfs! Can this be considered strength training!? Does hiking build muscle!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most people don't realize how much work it takes to become visibly "muscular"!. It requires lifting heavy and it's painful and your nutrient intake has to change to accomodate the increased need for protein etc!.!.!.!.
That being said, genetics certainly do play a part and everybody is different!. Some people do put on muscle easier than others!.
Don't worry about it though!. Lift weights and don't give it any thought!. It will be a positive thing all around for you to put muscle on!. And remember this, even if the worst case scenario did happen and you woke up one morning and you looked in the mirror and you saw all this "gross" muscle on your body, all you'd have to do is stop lifting lifting weights and it would go away relatively quickly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you'll just be fit!. You can't get as muscular as a manWww@Answer-Health@Com

you can take anything too far moderation is the keyWww@Answer-Health@Com

the key to strength training is to do it with cardio exercise as well!.
i had a personal trainer who had me do what is called resistance training and basically you just exercise with weights!. and also do at least 0 minutes of cardio!. like running or jogging!. you are only burning extra calories if you speed up your heart!.
you can get too much bulk muscle if you dont watch how much resistance you are using!. light weights are best!. and even though you might not think 5 pounds is alot it will be when you start using it in a workout!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

to tone up, not muscuar up you need to go to the gym and on the muscle machines do like 10 of each thing on a low weight and work your way up, have a break for like 20 secs and then do it again, this will make you tone up not muscle up :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
