Answers:

There are several good foods to help with high cholesterol levels.

Adding fiber to ones diet is the way to start. There are two different types of fiber - soluble and insoluble. Insoluble fiber is the type of fiber that you get from ruffage (salad greens, raw vegetables.) It's the type that your body can't absorb.

The second type of fiber is soluble fiber and this is the type that can help lower cholesterol levels. Your body can digest soluble fiber and what happens is that the soluble fiber sticks to the cholesterol and when it gets digested and excreted the cholesterol goes along with it.

Good examples of soluble fiber are: oatmeal, oat bran, bran, whole grain breads and pastas (the product must say 100% whole grain or 100% whole wheat) if it just says mixed grains or whole grains you are not getting the good fiber that you want.

While you are adding fiber to your diet remember to increase your fluid intake otherwise you can get constipated.

There are also a few studies that are showing that cinnamon may help lower cholesterol levels, so you want want to start adding some to your food or check out some cinnamon supplements.
