Gaining weight on the scale but losing weight in appearance?!

Question:

Gaining weight on the scale but losing weight in appearance?

A few weeks ago, I weighed 200 pounds. I knew tat I was overweight, so I started to exercise by using Dance Dance Revolution. My stomach is flattening and my legs are burning the weight. I started to eat pickles, blueberries, carrots, and bananas.

My question is this: Why did I gain 30 pounds? I now weigh 230 pounds. I am not eating the fruit to excess. I feel like I am stronger and the I weigh less, but I gained 30 pounds. Could the weight be muscle weight

Answers:

While that does seem like a lot of muscle weight to have gained, that seems to make the most sense. Since muscle weighs more than fat you would gain weight by gaining muscle. Usually, you'd lose some weight initially, then gain weight as you gain muscle. If the increase in weight bothers you try exercising in a different way, like running or biking. Cardio activities like these will help you lose weight without gaining additional muscle. Good Luck!
