Barrel shaped abs?!
Question: Barrel shaped abs!?
I have lowered my body fat percentage and worked hard for a six pack!. But it has turned out barrel shaped!.
My sixpack pokes out and I am wondering if this is just genetics or was it because of the way I was crunching!?
I have been doing situps and a variety of crunches along with situps on an inclined bench with a 35lb plate for resistance!.
Is there a way I can flatten out my sixpack or will it always poke out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Less weight, more reps!. You are bulking these muscles!. But switch to doing reverse crunches instead - bringing your legs up to your chest (there are multiple bench styles for this and upright styles where you 'hang' from your fore arms with your lower body free) this actually helps the muscles in the your legs and groin 'pull' the lower ab muscles flatter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Try lowering the weight you use, or take a week off from working out!.
The swelling that follows a hard workout made my belly poke out, but it would flatten out and get flat if I rested for a bit (back when I was in better shape)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The barrel shape comes from the bone structure of your rib cage - it is genetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
