Is drinking a lot of water while you eat bad for you?!


Question: Is drinking a lot of water while you eat bad for you!?
When I eat to drink a lot of water!.

Now I've been on a diet for 6 weeks and have been doing really well getting good results and have almost reached my goal!.

BUT my family saids i drink wayyyy to much water when i eat and that that is not good for me and that thats how i got fat in the first place!. I tend to drink possibly at least 2 bottles of water when i eat a big meal!.

Usally when i eat i would take a few bites of food and take a couple gulps of water eat some more and a minute or 2 later drink so more!.

Drinking COLD ICE WATER is thought by many health books to be counter productive to good digestion and can cause bloating and gas in some people!. I t can cause a sludge that then takes the stomach and small intestines more effort to break down!.!.!.small sips of room temp water or slightly cool water is possibly ok!. Note that most of the people in other countries than USA drink wine or beer or even milk with their meals!. A small amount of water is ok!. In between eating You may drink as much as you require to not have a noticeable thirst!. When you are thirsty (truly) you are already starting to show signs of dehydration!.!.!.so regular drinking is best, don't over load at one time!.!.!.drinking water will curb your hunger, but at meal time it also dilutes your natural digestive juices (slowing digestion)!. Severely cold (ICE) water as many Americans drink has been linked to some digestive problems later in life!. It's hard on your esophagus, for instance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drinking water speeds your metabolism, and fills you faster when you eat!. Its not bad for you to drink a lot of water, but if you are hardly eating because you drink so much thats not good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

drinking water wont make u fat!.!. if ur getting more then ur daily diet of food u gain weigt!. i drink a lot of milk when i eat dinner and i am not over weight but drinking a lot of water is not bad grats on ur goalWww@Answer-Health@Com

you don't wanna drink more than a gallon of water an hour stick to about a quart an hour if your just sitting around maybe a quart and a half if you exercising because it can be harmful to drink to much water cause it will flush out all the much needed nutritionWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yea they are wrong, hydration is incredibly important for your overall health!. Its crazy how much it is overlooked!.

Plus it helps you feel fuller faster and longer!.

There are very few instances about too much water being bad for you!. as long as you are sweating it out it shouldn't be a big deal!. as for eating and drinking, if you eat a big meal and consume too much water you could be stretching your stomach!. try eating and sipping!.!.wait a while after 2minutes and if you still feel hungry have a little more food and water!. give your body time to register that your stomach is filling up and maybe you won't consume too much food!. don't eat till you're stomach is bulging, eat till you feel it at the pit of your stomach, get up, take a walk!. while walking you can be sipping water and if you're feeling a grumble in your tummy eat a small healthy snack like wheat crackers w/peanutbutter or an apple!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can tell you three things:
1) Water did NOT make you fat! FAT MADE YOU FAT! Don't listen to your family (if you need any more proof that they're wrong, consider this: you've been LOSING weight while drinking tons of water, how is it possible that that made you fat!?) Stored water can increase your weight, but thats not bad!. In fact if you're exercising its good, because your muscles need water (most of a muscle cell is water)!. Keep yourself hydrated!. If you're well hydrated, your body will get better at flushing water out of your system, so you won't absorb more than you need!. So basically, give your body plenty of water, and your body will decide when its had enough!.
2) However, don't drink all your water in just a few sittings!. Space it out throughout the day!. Instead of two bottles per meal, drink a bottle of water with a meal, and then drink the second bottle between meals!. I carry a bottle around all day and make sure I drink half of it every hour
3) You mentioned you eat big meals!. Don't!. Eat many (5-6) small meals spaced out throughout the day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just visited my doctor and she actually told me to drink 2-3 glasses of water before a meal to help me become full faster so you are doing a very healthy thingWww@Answer-Health@Com

drinking water with meals is not advisable!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
one should drink water half an hour before n half an hour after a meal!. i mean it depends on the meal!.
small amounts in between meal is fine it helps in swallowing the food!.!.!.!.but if u take too much of water if will interfere in digestion, n the food will not get digested properly!.
it also depends on the meal!.heavy meals!.!.!. u shud avoid takin in lot of water!.!.but small amount of water is must!.!.!.!.!.
same goes with spicy meals!.!.u tend to feel thirsty n take in a lot of water!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

I actually have to disagree with a few people here!. Drinking water is very good but too much during meal times can have a bad effect for digestion!. Most people will never even tell you about this because it is often overlooked!. Your stomach is full of hydrochloric acid and that is what helps break down the food so that the nutrients can be absorbed by your body when it passes into the intestines!. Now in your case, all that water will dilute your HCl and it can not digest it properly!. Also if you need to take a few gulps of water after a few bites of food you might have to chew your food more!. Most people these days don't take the time to chew their food properly, they just force it down with a drink, so maybe that could be a factor!.

On another note, water did not get you fat, and water is good for you, just try to reduce the amount at meal times!.
