Can pilates reshape my muscles?!


Question: Can pilates reshape my muscles!?
I have 15!.5" inch calves that are mostly muscle!. I was wondering if pilates can reshape my naturally bulky calves into longer, slimmer ones!. I'm not looking for 10" calves or anything, i'm pretty realistic when it comes to results!. I just wanted to know if I buy a lowerbody pilates dvd, will my calf muscles lengthen and not look so bulky!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt it!.
Pilates focus more on the 'core', so first off that means an emphasis on the lower trunk!. Second, it involves strengthening as much as stretching (if not more)!. If you are presently doing weight / resistance training, switching to Pilates could make your muscles less bulky, but if you aren't currently doing that, Pilates might actually add bulk!. I say this if you tend to bulk up from strength training!. Most women will not gain noticeable bulk from strength training, but merely add tone and lose fat, which in the end makes them *less* bulky (usually)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no form of exercise can accomplish what you are seeking!. the length of a muscle belly is determined by the length of the tendon that attaches it to the bone!. the shorter the tendon the longer the muscle, the greater the potential for growth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
