Question: What would happen if I ate nothing but oatmeal 3 times a day!? Is this unhealthy!?

I have been eating oatmeal three times a day for the past month!. I love it! Only difference is that I've been eating fruit and vegetables as well!. But that's it; oatmeal, fruits and veggies!. I've never felt better!. I feel full of energy and just healthy overall!. But even if you ate only the oatmeal I don't think you'd have health problems!. I think it depends on what you mean by "extended period of time"!. You would definitely lose weight, (as long as your portions are reasonable)!. You might suffer from some nutrient deficiences since you aren't getting a balanced diet, but you could just take supplements and multi-vitamins!. So it's totally do-able!. I don't think you'd have health problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would not recommend eating one of ANYTHING over an extended period of time!.

Oatmeal is not a "complete" food!.

ie, its lacking in proteins, certain essential amino acids!. It might not have enough fat, or calories to sustain you!.

You need a balanced diet, not go to one extreme or the next!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, oatmeal is really good for you, but to eat just one food for more than a few days puts you at risk of losing valuable nutrients!.

Eating oatmeal a day cannot seriously harm you but you must eat other types of food as well to get your daily requirements of nutrition!. You would be getting fiber and calcium but your body needs other things like iron!. It would be best if you didn't just eat oatmeal, it would be unhealthy for your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally, oatmeal is a healthy food!. On all of the Quaker Oats boxes, you can see that it says it lowers your colestrol and helps your heart!. Only eating oatmeat everyday, is a little too much oatmeal, and no other foods, like veggies and fruits!. You need to get enough food from each food group to remain healthy, so if you do eat only oatmeal for the whole day, for several days, your body will start to reveal signs that tell you to improve your health!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its not healthy u will not be able to poop but after awhile ur tummy will hurt if oatmeal is all u can eat i suggest getting some with fruits and eating some veggies and cold cut sandwich meat also for other meals

Oatmeal isn't bad for, it's a good staple food for your diet!. HOWEVER, it's the same as eating only rice every meal of the day!. you'd be skinny skinny and wouldn't get all the nutrients you needed!.
