Is this normal or not ?

i started doing sit ups and crunches and reverse crunches and stuff like that, because i want to get a little bit of abs, and like after that whenever i ate my stomach would get fatter like bigger, i think i might be getting my period so could it just be bloating or something else? is this normal?

if you do crunches incorrectly, you could be building muscle on top of your fat and not under it. this would make your stomach look bigger. make sure that when you're doing crunches, you actually clench your stomach and arch your back towards the floor. a lot of people make the mistake of bracing their backs and arching it away from the floor. next time you do crunches, put one hand on your abs and feel the motion. if the muscles aren't clenched and quivering, most likely you're doing it wrong. and also if your neck hurts, you're doing it wrong too. all the pressure should be on the abs.

also, while crunches and sit ups build muscle, it isn't very efficient for losing fat. if you wanted to lose fat, cardio is best. doing both is ideal, of course.
