Flaxseed oil vs Fish oil for Omega-3s?!

Question:

Flaxseed oil vs Fish oil for Omega-3s?

I'm a vegetarian so I tried to stay away from fish oil. As a result I've been taking flaxseed oil. Now I've heard that most people can't absorb the omega-3s in flaxseed oil. Is this true? Is fish oil my only option since I don't eat fish? Is there a risk for mercury poisoning with fish oil? Thanks!

The reason I say that flaxseed is not as good as fish oil is based on this article http://www.cnn.com/2007/health/diet.fitn...
