No, you cannot gain muscle simply from just eating protein rich foods!.
You need to work out the areas you want to build up in order to build muscle!. Along with a consistent lifting program you can achieve a gain in muscle mass or muscle tone, depending on how much weight you lift and the repetitions you perform!.
If you were to lift on a consistent basis (4-5) days a week, and you wanted to build muscle mass you would want to eat a protien-rich food 30 minutes prior to your workout and within 2 hours after your workout (Ideally 1 hour after)!.
You should eat your weight in grams of protien every day as well if you seriously want to put on muscle mass (ex!. If you weigh 150 lbs you would want to eat 150 grams of protien)!.
