What is the pain next to my shins when I walk?!

Question: What is the pain next to my shins when I walk!?
It is not on my shin, but in the muscle next to it on the outside!. I run about 3 miles every other day and have for years, but it never happens when I jog/run, only when I walk!. It usually starts after walking about 15 minutes!. It is a "burning" feeling that gets more intense as I continue to walk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, Joe and good morning as to where-ever you might be!. But the problem you are describing sounds similar to "shin-splints" but you can investigate it further at the link given above!. I hope that it's not too severe!.
I'll be going in to have work on my c6 & 7 of my neck and will be away for awhile!. Have had work done in the past with the c4 & 5 and will be receiving new hardware!.
Hope you have a great day and be safe!.

this may be due the shoes u wear that may have hard sole!. so wear shoes with soft solesWww@Answer-Health@Com

it could possibly be chondromalacia
other wise known as 'runners knee'

the cartilage that should run smoothly under your kneecap can become irritated from the constant pounding your knees take during running

ive had this problem in the past and it sorted itself out with rest - but if your like me you dont want to rest and miss the natural high running gives you so i would run on grass instead of concrete whenever possible to cushion the blows to my knees

Sounds like shin splints to me!.
I had it for a while its down to poor technique and inadequate support in the shoe!. Your foot is probably rotating outwards as you land which can be caused by flat feet!.

Go to a proper sports shop (one where they analyse your gait)
and see what shoes they recommend for you!. But be prepared to spend a little more than on a standard training shoe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
