What can motivate me to stay on a diet or start a diet and keep going?!


Question: What can motivate me to stay on a diet or start a diet and keep going!?
Answers:
I lost about 50 pounds in a year after many attempts at losing weight that failed!.

I realized that, at least for me, going on a diet or working out alone just wouldn't work!. I had to get into a pattern of eating well, exercising, and thinking positively all simultaneously!. When you exercise, especially after you finish, your body and mind experience a euphoric feeling--I have heard that the endorphins produced by exercise are like natural morphine!. This makes not only your body feel good, but helps drastically to improve your mood!. When you are in a good mood, it is easier to think positively and crave healthy food!. In turn, when you eat healthy food, you feel a certain pride and well-being that can inspire you to do other positive things--like exercise!. So I am saying that once you get into this patttern, the different parts are mutually reinforcing!. Eventually, you can reach a state where none of it is a struggle anymore, and you actually LIKE working out and eating well!. Then, you are not really "dieting"--you are just eating the healthy foods that make you happy!.

All of this works even better if you can add some spiritual/meditative/prayer aspect!. I am not religious, but I always had a period of calm reflection every night about my day, not just about diet and exercise, but my whole process of "living well!." I would also visualize how I would like to approach the next day!. I would think about, "what if my friends ask me to go get pizza!? How would I deal with that!?" If you have thought about such obstacles already, you are more prepared to deal with them when they happen!.

This is a brief account of the way that worked for me--and it didn't just help me lose weight, it helped me be happy!. I think the two go hand-in-hand!. I hope it is helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just imagine that as soon as you reach your desired weight, Viggo Mortensen (or a hot guy of your choice) will walk into your house, mysteriously devoid of pants!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pick on thing that you want really really bad!. Make note cards what you will get out of eating healthy!.Place them in visible areas where you would go to get a snack or food!.Place one in your car to remind you of your goals everyday!. if you workout and have an old shirt write one inspirational word on the front and back!.now you can always look down for that extra boost of energy or to get going!. and the one on the back is for your friend that decided to take the step with you or that someone at the gym that see's you giving it your all and reads your shirt that helps them give it their all!. corny i know but if it works it works!.!.dont get on the scale right away either your not gonna see results overnight, you might see results in a week but give it time don't get distracted by the scale, the scale usually is the main ingredient to ending a diet, you usually will gain muscle weight and then lean out!. well good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
