It is okay to miss a day of working out?!

Question: It is okay to miss a day of working out!?
I usually have a daily workout of a 45 minute run followed by half an hour of pilates and half an hour of weights!. I rarely miss a day, but when I do it's usually because I'm too busy with school and work!.

However, my problem is I start to obsess about missing a day and I start to feel so guilty!. I just want to know if it's okay if I miss a day or two of the week and if my body will start to un-metabolize in the days I take off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
un metabolize!? that's new :)
you are obsessed with exercising to the point where it will do more harm than good!. i'm sorry if that offends you, but you are exercising too much!. I have never seen anyone that needed to train more than 6 days per week, and this is if this person is an advanced professional athelete!.
Pilates is a waste of your time!.!.!. do your weight trianing before your cardio, and train one day on, one day off!.
remember, when you exercise everyday, you will stress your nervous system and it will need to recover!. if it doesn't recover, you will host a ton of problems in your body including hormonal imbalance, restlessness, insomnia, loss of appetite, muscle lass, fat gain, slower metabolism, and the list goes on!.
you need to educate yourself about how your body works!.
don't miss one day!.!.!. miss 2 or 3 days!.!.!. it'll make you look and feel better!.

When people usually see me, they ask me if i train everyday and if i train 3-4 hours per day (i'm a competitve light-heavyweight bodybuilder)!.!.!. they are shocked when i tell them that i train only 5 days per week, 20-30 minutes per session!. people just assume more is better and they don't know that it's the opposite!.

hope that helps,Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's not only ok but it's really good for your body to have a day or 2 off!. Just make sure u eat healthy foods so you don't feel so badWww@Answer-Health@Com

its fine to miss a day!.
just think of it as a relaxation time for your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wouldn't know!. I don't work out!. I have to start though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NOT at all!. DOnt stress one day does not hurt it may even help!.
Body needs rest just as much!.
Enjoy it dont beat yourself up some dont excercise at all!.
You sound active enough to chill twice a week!.

Good on you!!!!!!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

are you bragging about how in shape you are!?
It's ok to miss a day!. I miss days all the time!. and no you're not fat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's okay to miss a day of working out, sometimes your body needs that rest!. Just like anything else that is accidentally missed, if you don't over-do it, your metabolism will be just fine!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i haven't worked out for like 3 years and i feel fine so you should be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it's okay to take a day or so off as long as those days are not back to back!. In fact, your body needs to rest every now and then, so it would be best if you did skip a day here and there!. Good luck!. Work hard!Www@Answer-Health@Com

your not suppose to workout everyday anyways!.
when you workout your muscles are tearing (thats you feel the burn) and you need to give your muscles time to repair themselves; thus you should probably be taking 2 days off anyways!.
and no your body wont start to un-metabolize in one or two days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

From what I know it is perfectly fine!. In fact it might be better because your body may be use to the workout, which means it is not as affective as it once was!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1 day is fine!. actually most trainers recommend taking 1 day off!. mine said that it helps your body recharge so the rest of your workouts are better!. one thing you can do on these days is park further away at work or school so you can still get a walk in!. it sounds like you have a solid workout routine so dont stress about one day here or there!. just stay motivate do what you can and eat right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

our bodies need rest thats why we sleep!. of course its okay to miss a day!. rest is as much of part of exercising as sweating is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, no!. It isn't the best to be working out every single day!. You should probably alternate the days you do those different routines!. That gives your muscles a chance to recover, and actually start becoming stronger!. If you take a day off here and there, you will notice yourself getting faster and being able to lift more weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's absolutely fine to miss a day -- in fact, it's best to give yourself a 'rest day' every week so you don't overwork your body!. Your body won't make any drastic changes if you just miss one day and then continue on a similar workout!. So don't worry -- all that stress can't be good for you! Be proud of yourself for sticking to your routine as much as you can!. Make sure you eat plenty of healthy foods to give yourself the energy to do your workouts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Girl with a body like that I can't even imagine that missing a day here and there could take away any of the hotitude that I see!. You would still be smokin' hot in my book!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not a big deal, you retain all of your aerobic and anaerobic fitness for up to five days until noticeable drops in fitness are seen!.I am refering to a study of womans runners done by Doherty R!.A!. in Journal of Strength and Conditioning !.vol!.17(3) pp!.599-607!.Runners were tested by taking a complete breajk from running, after five days of inactivity they still retained most or all of their fitness!. Afetr 15 days of complete inactivity, (as in not training) their running times dropped considerably!.SO one- or two days is fine, and also you should taper every fourth week and make your workouts a lot shorteer and less frequent!. Keep the intensity high, however!.When tapering in regards to conditioning, do your workouts less frequently and make them shorter but retain all intensity to keeo your fitness and taper most effectively for best gains!.Also doing sprint intervals may be easier and funner than long distance!. I used to run 6 miles a day , but have given that up for intervals and feel way more explosive and strong!.My aerobic fitness is still very high too!. I did it usually in uder 42 minutes!.I got this info from Full Throttle Conditioning, and awesoem product bt Ross Enamait, here's a link:http://rosstraining!.com/
Look in products section!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey!!

I totally understand the feeling of being worried that all your hard work will be washed away with missing a day!. But I find that after I miss a day, the next day I look better and feel better and am able to see the results I have been looking for because my body has been able to get rid of the water it is retaining when you excercise!.
Anyways, its no big deal to miss a day or even 3 a week!
try and go 3-4 times a week, but even if you occassionally go under that!.!.!.it wont ruin anything!
Keep up the good work and remember taking a breather is necessary and essential to staying healthy!! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
