How can a 12 year old boy lose 15 pounds?

I am 5 feet exactly and am 130 pounds,I need to lose weight no matter what you say to avoid being picked on in middle school and so I can feel good about myself,
How can I lose 15 pounds without riding bikes and running.

First of all, please go talk to your parents/guardians about wanting to commit to a healthier lifestyle and ask them to take you to see your pediatrician and discuss your concerns with him or her.

Here are some general pointers in regard to losing weight in a healthy manner. Do not think of this as a diet...just a healthier way of living.


1.) Ask your Doc how many calories you should be eating daily. Stay within that limit. Write down all the foods you eat and their calories.
2.) Try to avoid junk food, fast food, fried foods, stay away from regular soda. If you do eat any of these foods, eat them very sparingly. Just a taste.
3.) Do not skip meals in an effort to lose weight
4.) Snack healthy - fruits & vegetables,
5.) Follow the food pyramid when preparing your meals.
6.) Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily
7.) Remember that exercise is non-negotiable. Its a part of a healthy lifestyle. Even if you don't like biking or running...find an activity that you do like! Play a sport, go running..
