Curious if anyone may help me with ideas to shed some weight- fast :)?

I am somewhat in shape, but really want to lose some of my butt and thighs. Unfortunately I spend a bit of my day sitting and it shows. (I may be seeing an old guy friend soon. I would really like to tone up a bit before we meet again :)

This is what I was thinking - eliminating my carbs for the most part and sugars to help with some fast slimming, then adding an hour walk to my day as well as the excercise where I stand tall and bend my knees to stoop down - thinking that may help my butt. Hope that makes sense!

I spend a good part of my day standing in front of the stove so I am able to do this simple excercise while working...any other thoughts, suggestions or advice out there?? It would be greatly appreciated! I may meet him next week, though I frown on 'fast weight loss' I really want to tone up a bit. Thank you!!
