How does losing weight work with so many calories I digest?!

Question: How does losing weight work with so many calories I digest!?
I haven't started counting calories yet, but I plan to do that!. Anyways, I walk every night and I try to walk a bit over a mile!. I read that it takes your body at least 30 minutes to really benefit from walking though so I am going to start timing it rather then worrying about the distance!.

What I don't get though is that, on average, walking a mile works off 100 calories!. Since I am overweight it works off more like 165 calories!. However, if I am eating like 1,000 calories a day!.!.how is that even effective to only work off so few calories!?! Also, how many calories should I be eating a day since I am overweight!?

I just don't get how I will ever really lose weight if I am suppose to be eating so many more calories then I am able to work off in a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your body burns a certain amount of calories each day whether you exercise or not!. We each have what is called a Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)!. This rate gradually decreases with age!. To the BMR you add the total calories used during the day due to all exercise and activity, which gives you your Active Metabolic Rate!.

I am 6', 170 lbs and 52 years old!. My basal metabolic rate is about 1700 calories burned per day!. To that number I can add whatever calories I burn during the day due to activity and exercise!. That will tell me approximately how many total calories I will burn up in a day!.

Once you know this number you can eat however many calories you choose in order to lose, gain or maintain your weight!. You burn about 3500 more calories than you consume to lose a pound!.

I have a page posted at my website that explains this further!. You can also input your own info to see your own numbers as far as calories used in a day!.

Every body is suppose to consume about 2,000 calories a day overweight or not!. But like I do get the smallest calories or non fat things!. If you cut back on sugar also that will def!. help you!. Do something besides walking- Laughing helps you lose calories and steam crunches!. I do those a lot!. Also try sit-ups,push ups, running, swimming!. Make your exercises fun so it'll make you want to do them more!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Your body burns calories just by living you know, usually 1200-1300 calories a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

u need atleast 1300 calories to survive(not including being active) u will gain weight on a little amount of calories cuz ur body will go into starvation mode and hold onto everything!Www@Answer-Health@Com

when you start counting thats when you will get confuesd as i used to do that!. but didn't help me
so I stopped counting in the morning I take half a lemon squeezed in a glass of water instead of tea/coffee!. I just have 3 meals a day and when I feel like having a snack I get some fruit either fresh or dried but not fried!. when you feel like ice cream/milkshakes go for some juices/water!. dont drink 6-8 glasses of water because when you do that you will feel bloated!. and you wont be able to eat at all!. so avoid too much water!. too much or too less is BAD, so keep your life style healthy and try some mild excersises at first then slowly increase the time like first week 5- 10 mins, 2 week 10 - 15 mins, 3 week 15 - 20 mins, 4 week 20 - 25 mins then keep it upto 25 mins a day!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
