I'm going to get a treadmill?!

Question:

I'm going to get a treadmill?

my husband and i are going to buy our first treadmill, he's training to get into the police acadamy he only needs one more step to get in, and so i don't have time to go to the gym anymore so i canceled my membership about 2 months ago since i have to take care of both my kids, and so i wanted to take advantage and work out i started taking walks everyday but then somedays were to hot to walk and others were raining so i thought a treadmill would be perfect because there is no excuse as to why i can't get on it every day correct. so i wanted to know how many days a week would be enough to workout so that i can lose weight and also is it better to walk or run? has anyone actually had good results on doing this? i know i have to eat well which is not a problem. i just want to get some feed back. please help. i'm 5'9, and weigh about 184 i want to lose at least to start off about 20-25 pounds which would leave me at about between 164 or 159 then maybe later i'll lose more but for now 164

Answers:

Any kind of cardio is good at least 20 min 3-5 times per week, but you can always do more if you want to. Walking and running are good. A treadmill is a good idea, but an eliptical trainer is better if you can afford it. Google Precore. They have the best stuff and a wide range of it.
Best of luck.

Also, get your kids involved too. Run with them and play with them. Find some kind of sport or activity to get into. That way you can have fun quality time with them, watch them, and teach them good healthy habits.
