Am i overweight?!


Question:

Am i overweight?

i Am 16 years old, about 5'5'' , female.. i weigh close to 150 lbs. Am I overweight? I stay active... i play softball, basketball, and i ride horses regularly...My body doesnt have much fat except for on my thighs and a little belly. Neither are very big and as far as i know muscle weighs more than fat and i have an atheletic body. If you think i am how can i lose my belly?

Sweetie! You don't seem overweight! And honestly, our opinions shouldn't matter. If you are involved in sports and horseback riding.. thats very healthy! As for your fat distribution, that is VERY normal for females. We are supposed to have it there. Any poundage on the thighs is put there by nature for childbirth, Its not "fat" its completely natural. However, if you feel insecure about it, try eating a little healthier, and the exercise combined with that will increase your metabolism and you will get rid of it much quicker! Good luck!

Stick thin ISN'T healthy. No matter what the media or anyone else says. Every persons body is different, and one girl at your height may be thinner, because of genes or whatnaot. And that probebly works for her, but your body is different than others at that weight. Just eat healthy, continue on those sports, and you should be fine.

And yes, fat does weigh more than muscle. But remember, that numbers don't equal health. Feel free to ask any doctor that.
