Question: Is it a good idea for a 16 YO female to lift weights!?
I have lost the motivation to do exercise like walking, running and riding bikes because i am bored with it!.
Will lifting weights help me loose weight and tone up and is it okay for females to lift weights, i dont want to be to buff!
Is it a good form of exercise!?
Any tips!?

Hey it is such a common misconception that if women lift weights they will become buff!. It is sooo prevalent!. The only way women become buff is with a hell of a lot of supplements and testosterone - which women naturally do not have much of!.
Weights is PERFECT and I recommend ALL people to undertake some kind of weight training exercise WITH a cardio program!. i!.e!. do weights AND running!.
(1) Will lifting help you lose weight!? You bet! The lean muscle mass that develops from lifting weights will burn up more energy making it much harder to get fat!
(2) Help tone up!? Of course!
(3) Supermodels and models all undertake some sort of weight training program!. Unless you are a genetic freak (which you won't be), you won't put on any 'man' muscle!. Good luck!
(3) Tips: Pick a decent weight and do perhaps 13 repetitions of it!. Take a break and do 3-4 sets of 13 - which should be good for endurance and toning - perfect for you!. Try it and be consistent 3-4 times a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

actually, to optimally lose weight, you'll want to do some strength training to build a touch of lean muscle!.
here's the reasoning:
if you cardio, you burn calories and "burn fat"!. however, you stop burning calories once you stop doing cardio!. but if you have lean muscle, it keeps working even if you're not doing cardio!. so technically, you'll be burning fat as you lead your daily life!.
by the way, in my opinion, the best cardio workouts are swimming and rowing!. i find both these activities much more enjoyable than simply running and walking and they are also much more intensive too!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's a great idea, don't think that us girls can't have a go at 'boys stuff!.'
Keep it under 3lb or muscle will start to build!. You should combine it with some form of other form of exercise though, Try doing some yoga while holding the weights or going for a jog inside or around your house with them!.

Weights won't hurt you at 16!. Just do high reps and low weight so that you can stay toned and gorgeouse!.

I think its bad because 15YO still has some more time to grow up (going taller) and lift weights affect the height, but using the Swedish exercises, aerobics, and elongation exercises, try to minimize your dinner and not to sleep immediately after dinner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The reason you are bored with running and bike riding is because you probably do "traditional cardio" and very soon you will fond with weight lifting the same thing!. Yes weight lifting is ok, but when you get to the point where you're body building that's where to draw the line as you are still growing as excessive body building stuns you growth!. I suggest that with your workouts, try intervals!. For 1 minute start slow and then for the next to minutes go hard with heavier weights!. Mix and match this with any exercise, and if you're into muscle building try 2 units of 20 minutes a day; preferably in the morning and night, and leave room for extra activity!. Hopefully you should start to see results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
