Question: Will a low-carb diet REALLY help you lose faster than a 1200 cal healthy diet!?
If you have a normal BMI but need to lose 2-3 lbs a week, would you be better off eating a strict low-carb diet or a natural, plant-based, more well-rounded diet (for a few weeks, plus working out) 1200 calories either way!?

In the short term, you will lose more weight with a low carb diet because without carbs to restore the glycogen levels in your muscles, the muscles will tend to use their own tissue for energy!. Because pound for pound, muscle mass is composed of far fewer calories than fat, you can lose muscle weight far more quickly than fat weight!. Once you have used a bunch of muscle mass for energy, your metabolism will be much slower than it was before, and when you go back to a normal diet, you will gain all of the weight back and then some!.

With a well balanced diet, that is lower in calories and a combination of aerobic and anaerobic exercise, you can increase your muscle mass, and thus, your metabolism, as you lose fat!. With increased metabolism, higher energy levels due to improved physical fitness and continued exercise, you can eventually go back to a well-balanced 2000-calorie diet and continue to lose fat and feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the low carb will make u lose weight faster but as soon as you start eating carbs again u will put it all back on faster so u mite even get stretch marks!.

A NORMAL HEALTHY diet bit everything diet and lots of exercise will help u lose weight and keep the weight off!! make sure u keep your cupboards full everyday of fruit and veg so u don't go Hungary and reach for the biscuit barrel!!

The latter!.!.!.but remember that carbs are a form of sugar!.!.!.!.so try to eat the type that will fill you up better!.!.!.whole grains!.!.!.!.dense bread!.!.!.!.!. i dont think its healthy to loose 2-3lbs a week!. a month yeah!.!. but a week!? anyway!.!. watever the reason!.!. i think the 1200 calorie diet will work better :) just because ive tried them both and have gotten better and faster results with the 1200 calorie diet :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

Forget low carb!.!.eat good carbs and avoid processed carbs like white bread, white rice etc!. Our body needs a certain amount of carbs to function properly!. From what I read, the average person needs about 130 grams of carbs a day!.

A well rounded plant based diet is your best bet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just practce portion control and exercise thats what i do so you can eat what you want!.its not good to loosse weight that fast anywayWww@Answer-Health@Com

i think both would work, but the plant-based one would be healthier and easier to stick to because you dont have to strictly moniter your carbsWww@Answer-Health@Com
