Can working out one muscle group decrease another?!

Can working out one muscle group decrease another?
I do push ups for the chest, then curls for the biceps using dumbbells. Dose the straining from curls actually increase pectoral muscles or flatten them out?

if you isolate the muscles it does not affect them either way...however no you will not decrease muscles by working out another group unless you neglect that group entirely
