I'm sure there's more to this story than you've put forth here. No, if you are overweight and increase your intake of calories and do not exercise, you will not lose weight. In fact, don't be surprised to find that your bathroom scale keeps going up. Now if you spread out the same calories you eat at 3 meals per day into 5-6 small meals and exercise, you will begin slowly losing weight.
Another scenario is that you cut out processed and high carb foods and replace those with all of the green vegetables you can devour and you can eat more and lose weight--even more so if you incorporate (here's that nasty word, again)--exercise.
