Is 10 lbs in 6 weeks a realistic weight loss goal?!

Question: Is 10 lbs in 6 weeks a realistic weight loss goal!?
Hi!. In the last year I've slowly put on 10 lbs due to my use of an antidepressant (even with moderate exercise)!. It came time to stop the medicine and I would love to lose the weight!!
I've alway been slim and never dieted before, but with a good workout program and calorie reduction, could my goal be accomplished!?
I have a vacation coming then and would love my normal body back :)
Thanks for advice!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
yes!. most health authorities recommend 2-3 pounds per week maximum!.

in addition to the previous answers here, you may also want to reduce your intake of saturated fats!. these are found mostly in meats, fish & seafood, and dairy products!. read the labels of packaged foods, and ask restaurants to use butter and oil sparingly!.

another tip is to eat 4-5 small meals per day instead of 3 big meals!. this keeps your digestive system working all day, and you may find yourself feeling fuller longer, so you don't eat as many calories, and you'd avoid those snack attacks!

you also know to avoid junk foods!. when you get the munchies go for oatmeal cookies or high fiber bread instead of chips, pretzels, ice cream, candy, etc!.

increasing the amount of fiber in your diet is good--not only for disease prevention, but also because fiber makes you feel fuller!. many high fiber foods are also fat free, like many beans!.

many high fiber foods are also low calorie!. so you may find yourself eating just as much as before, feeling full, and losing weight without eating less! calorie reduction doesn't have to mean eating less!.

read the labels of canned beans in the grocery store!. try a variety of beans!. since most canned beans are packed in salt, you want to rinse the beans before eating!. i dump the beans from the can into a strainer, rinse off the syrupy glop, rinse out the can, put the beans back into the can, fill the can with water covering the beans!. then refrigerate the can!. a can will last 1-3 days at most if you eat at least !.5 cup a day!. or more!.

with a better diet added to your current exercise program, 10 pounds should be easy!. and if you should ever have to resume that antidepressant, with a better diet + exercise you many not gain the weight!. especially now that you know that the pills lead to weight gain!.

good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated!. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract!. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it!.

Then also try to find a well balance diet program!. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days!. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it's well balanced!. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

10 lbs in 6 weeks is a very healthy and reachable goal!. Experts say 1-2 pounds a week is what you should expect if you are going about it in a healthy way, though you might drop more in the first few days just from water weight!.

Good luck, and remember, diets don't work if they're not followed up by healthy eating and regular exercise!. =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely!. Have a daily exercise plan that is balanced weekly between your entire body!. Along with that, have nutritional and balanced meals each day!. I am absolutely positive you will lose more than 10 pounds in those 6 weeks if you do it correctly!. Maybe get a personal trainer to help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, 10lbs in 6 weeks is workable!. You sound like you already have your plan in place!.!. smart gal!. I hope you plan to eat healthy ( include lots of green )!. Also eat slowly!. What ever plan you have even if you "cheat" eat one small bite at a time, put your utensil down and chew slowly!. Give yourself a chance to enjoy this care of your body!.!.!. only after you swallow your well chewed bite go to the next!. Don't be surprise if you fill up on a very small amount!. Save the rest for later!. I have learned to put my food on a saucer or salad plate because I find the slow eating fills me very quickly and finishing my plate is sometimes something i am compelled to do!. Have a wonderful vacation!!! Best wishes!. Light & Love,Www@Answer-Health@Com

that is a very realisitic goal!.!.!.at least its not like 10 pounds in 6 days or even 2 weeks, those are probably unhealthy!. walking on a tredmill or jogging and situps should get u there!. i had a personal trainer after i had my daugher and she said losing 1-2 pounds a week about average weightloss when working outWww@Answer-Health@Com

For sure! You can do it in 5 healthily! You could lose more than that but it might not be healthy for you!.!.!. I lost about 25 lbs in the last month from just eating healthy foods!. I know its not healthy to lose more but I am just eating the right foods like bran flakes and whole grain breads!

As long as you eat right, get some exercise and stick with it you WILL lose 10 pounds!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutley! 10 lbs in 6 weeks is a great goal and it's a healthy amount of time to do it in! Just make sure that you'll still be at a healthy weight for your body after you lose ten pounds and make sure that your diet meets your nutritional needs ^_^ Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sure you'll loose most of it before the 6 week period is up!. You should be able to loose it the first couple weeks of exercising!. Also it could be due to water weight so you might want to flush your system!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes!. that should be very easy to accomplish if you stick to a ridig workout program and keep good eating habits!. you could lose that much in like 2-3 but yea that will be easily accomplishedWww@Answer-Health@Com
