Which is more effective? Running uphill on a real mountain/hill or running on a !

Question: Which is more effective!? Running uphill on a real mountain/hill or running on a treadmill!?
I'm curious to know which is more effective, even though the body is performing the same action of running,
there must be some different advantage of running in natural surroundings compared to a treadmill in the gym or at home!.

Is there a fitness trainer in da house!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Running outside is better - grass surfaces are not 100% flat so your body is constantly adapting to the differing surfaces and working harder than it would do on a flat treadmill!.

The only way to make treadmill running slightly more effective (if you are unable to run outside because of bad weather) is to set it to an incline of around 2!.5!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well prefereably a real hill/mountain, because you will have to move more, for example avoiding a rock, or a ditch!.
And outside would be more refreshing, and maybe you would feel better outside, rather that inside a house/gym!.

But you can go for longer on a treadmill, because the treadmill never ends, once you come to the top of the hill/mountain you either have to fast walk it down, or just walk it down, and that can affect your rhythm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Running on a mountain is definitely better for these few reasons:

1) When running on a treadmill, a person only pushes himself upwards and not forwards and thus requires less energy!. This is the reason why I take 8 mins to run 2!.4km (1!.5 miles) on a treadmill while I take 11 mins when I do it at the track!.

2) It is more motivating staring at the scenery and feeling the wind rushing against your face than staring at a computer panel with continuously changing digits!.

3) I personally like the feeling of running uphill as it is quite relaxing!. When I run outdoors, I get the impression that I'm relaxing and not working out, thus it motivates me to continue!.

Hope that this was helpful!Www@Answer-Health@Com

im not fitness trainer, but surely it depends on the weather on the hill/mountain!? If its warmer you sweat more, maybe thats better than joggin in an air conditioned room!? Depends on the incline set on the treadmil!. and the incline of the hill your going to run!.!. on a treadmil your hill can be endless whereas on a hill/mountain your gonna get to the top eventually!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definately the real deal! Treadmills use the specific muscle its designed to, wheras, the real hill can use so many more!.

I wouldnt recommend running, but i am more of a walker!.!.!. i feel its better for you anyway!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Running up a mountain is nicer because of the scenery and fresh air!. Running on sand is a very effective way of preparing you for a road run!. I am not fussed on tread mills because they are indoors!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would recommend outside as the air is fresh without the added toxins that a house has (try looking up indoor pollution)!.
Ever heard of Greengym (hope I spelt that right)!?
Psychological affect of nature is good too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

outside definately!!!! a real mountain will have different steps and grooves and natural landscape which will move more muscles than the treadmill!.!.!.!.!.plus its more relaxing!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A real hill is probably steeper plus you have to side step obstacles in the road so its probably more challengingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Running up a mountain would be much more healthy but using the treadmill is certainly easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not a lot but hard work running up hill all the time ,a real hill that is not mole hill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the real thing is always better no matter what you are doingWww@Answer-Health@Com
