How do I cancel my Bally membership?
know Bally's membership is notoriously hard to get out of...but I have a month-to-month membership plan and I've only had it for about 3 months or so. Does that affect anything as opposed to having a 3-year contract in terms of cancelling?
Answers:
If you're month-to-month and have not signed a contract obligating you to stay a certain amount of time, they must allow you to cancel anytime upon your request.
If they don't immediately cooperate after the first phone call, send them a letter certified mail so you have proof of your request. If they charge you after the letter, dispute the charge with your bank/credit card and refuse to pay.
I fought with that crappy company for months and learned that you have to play hardball right away, otherwise they string you along and just keep taking your money. If they do not respond professionally to your request, report them to the BBB.
