Protein, Protein, and Protein?!

Question:

Protein, Protein, and Protein?

Is it true that if you intake lots of protein while trying to gain wiehgt you'll put on slim weight while you lift weights of course?
DO you think its a good idea for me to take the Pure Protein Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars, and Body FOrtress vanilla flavored Whey Protein Shake, even since they are high in fats, they have lots of protein.

Answers:

If you are trying to put on muscle weight, protein is good for that. You will need carbohydrates tho'. A good routine would be, to eat 6 small meals a day, consisting of one part carbs and one part protein. Your body will use the carbs for energy, which will allow the protein to be used to build muscle. Lean muscle burns calories more than fat. As you build muscle, you will burn fat more and more. Work out on a system like the following: day 1- upper body, day 2- cardio (running etc), day 3- lower body, day 4- cardio, day 5- upper body, day 6- cardio, day 7- rest. Start over again (on the above regimen) with a lower body workout and go on as above.

Cottage cheese is the "perfect protein" so it has all the essential elements to build muscle.

Just don't over do things and hurt yourself. Muscle soreness is one thing. Stretching out before lifting will help. You can find books that will tell you which exercises to use to isolate certain muscle groups and how to work the whole muscle, as opposed to just part. You want to work the muscle from insertion point all the way through the other insertion point (where the tendon joins the bone).
