Does Sodium Affect Actual Weight Loss?!

Question: Does Sodium Affect Actual Weight Loss!?
I don't have issues with water retention!. I drink 1/2 my body weight in ounces of water each day!. I also do cardio/circuit training 3 days a week, so I sweat a lot!. I also hear that my birth control (Yaz) is somewhat a diuretic as well!. So, the water retention is not an issue for me!.

However, out of convenience I sometimes eat Weight Watcher's meals!. They are low in calories, and taste great, but have lots of sodium!. I understand the sodium can affect you health wise as well!.

QUESTIONS:
If I stay within the daily recommended amount of 2400mg, is it okay to have these meals!?

If I do go over, despite not retaining water much, can the sodium still hinder my weight loss!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The only real issue with sodium and weight is the amount of water retention!. Your body attempts to maintain a serium osmolarity (concentration) at 140 meq/L, so if you intake too much sodium, it will retain free water in order to dilute the sodium ions in the body!.

However, your kidneys also do a good job of excreting excess sodium, so it shouldn't be much of an issue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes sodium usually affects a persons weight by water rentention, but it also has other help risks beside weight like Edema, hypertension, stroke, dizziness, gout, headaches, kidney damage, kidney stones, stomach problems, nausea, vomiting, coma!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
