Start out slow!. When I was getting in shape, I started with running just a mile every day!. Throughout a couple of months, I slowly increased the distance and now am up to running 4 or 5 miles comfortably!. I wasn't too overweight, but i lost 30 pounds total in about six months!. All you need is determination and drive to get where you want to be!. I made a calendar and crossed out each day when I was finished with my workout!. For me, it was more of a self-motivation issue!. I took it in small steps!. First 10 lbs wow I can do this!. Now for the next 10 etc!.
I cut out junk foods, and colas!. Watched portion size!. I exercised, first in the water!. Aquafit is a really good exercise--it's easy on the joints and you get a good workout!.
When I was stronger, I started walking on the treadmill and added weight lifting!.
Now I walk 4 times a week, lift weights and do Pilates!. I make sure that I walk 10k at least once a week!.
I have not felt this great physically in years!. I love meeting new people--I don't have to worry about what they think of this large person!.
