What exercises can I do to strengthen my leg muscles?

The best leg work out you can do is jogging. It doesn’t even have to be too intense. Distance running helps you gain lean muscle mass, and loose unwanted fat, and give you more energy. Jogging is also a perfect choice of exercise because it works a lot of other muscles in your body.
