What is this extra weight?!?!


Question: What is this extra weight!?!!?
About 6 weeks ago I decided I was really going to go for it and lose my last half stone!.
I increased my exercise activity (I do a step or normal aerobics class a day and also I bought an exercise bike and I have been dooing 40 minutes on that as well as my other workouts)!.
I have been writing down everything I eat religiously and sticking to around 1300 cals a day!. I have even replaced my usual lunchtime sarnie with a home made smoothie and since I have been doing all this I seem to have gained 3lb!!
Not only that I have not had a period for 6 weeks (I am not pregnant), and when I do weigh myself on my body fat scales it does not seem like the fat has gone up!?! What is this extra weight and how can I kick start my loss again!?!

It may be that your muscle mass is increasing!.

Muscle wrighs more than fat and therefore if it is increasing then you will weigh more!.

If you have not had your period for 6 weeks there may be a number of reasons including:
Stress
Pregnancy (if you're sure your not then ignore otherwise get a test)
body fat levels being too low
illness
increased physical activity
or any other number of reasons!.

If it doesn't come back in the next couple of months then go and see a doctor!.

The extra 3lb could also be water retention!. If you normally get bloated during your period then this may be what's happening just later than normal due to your increased excercise activity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is obvious from what you have written that you are increasing muscle mass, muscle is heavier than fat!. This is not a bad thing as it will also speed up your metabolism and after a couple of weeks you will find that your weight will stabilise !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The same thing happened to me! As soon as i started to work out more, i gained 2 kg!.!.!.but now those have gone away and im back to normal!. Maybe the same will happen for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Smoothies may be what is putting on the weight!. Smoothies are not diet food, unless you make them with whey or soy protein and ice and plain yogurts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
