What are the best conditions for weight lifting?!


Question:

What are the best conditions for weight lifting?

Is it better to lift early in the morning or late at night? Also should I lift on an empty stomach or lift then eat afterwards? Trying to get into a routine and either doing it at the beginning of my day of the end works best, but which is better for me?


Answers:

I usually wake up, eat a good, well balanced breakfast, and put on my workout clothes. Then I wait for about an hour (drinking water, watching the news, or maybe a recorded TV episode on my DVR,) and then go to do about 30-60 minutes of cardio. After that (on Mon, Wed, and Fri) I do a full body workout.

Sometimes I vary that for a couple of weeks by doing an upper body/lower body five day split (lower on tue and thu). I always do this in the morning, because I find I get involved in other stuff later on in the day and I don't want to miss my workout.
