It's great you want to lose weight and become healthier. Studies have shown that the slower you lose weight (and in a healthier way than crash dieting...meaning= by living a healthy lifestyle) the more likely you are to KEEP it off, which is JUST as important as getting it off right?
Do your best to not average more than 2 lbs a week. If you do happen to lose 3 or 4 one week and only 1 the next...don't get upset. Just look at your average. Also, start lifting weights and even if you don't lose lbs. on the scale, you will most likely lose inches. Do NOT eat less than 1200 calories. And in your case since you are only 14...I wouldn't go less than 1400. If you exercise (and don't exercise too much!) you will lose weight. Try to join a support group online for teens (a healthy one!). Now is the time to start a healthy lifestyle...NOT a lifelong weight rollercoaster. One thing to try is taking pictures...get in a bathing suit and take some now and then more in a month. You'll see a difference, even if it isn't as much on the scale as you'd like.
You can do it! Even if it takes you a tiny bit longer, and it will be more likely to stay off if you go slower...isn't it worth it? good luck!
