Which should I choose: Swimming or Gym session?!

Question:

Which should I choose: Swimming or Gym session?

I have been away from exercising for five years whilst having and bringing up my two young boys (before that used to exercise 4 times a week doing swimming, aerobics, weights and gym sessions).

When my youngest son starts preschool in September I will at last have an hour or so to myself once a week and would like to use this time to get back into exercising. I know once a week is not ideal so I would like to get the most out of it. What do you think would be best for toning and weight loss: a swimming session (I'm not a particularly strong swimmer) or a session in the gym?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Answers:

Swimming is the best for all round fitness and if you have not exercised in some time is will be the best way to improve your current fitness levels.

In addition you can take the children to the park and run around with them as well, it will be good for all of you.

The other option is to go to the gym in your free time, and then take the children swimming once a week with you. Some swimming pools have a creche facility too. It is worth checking out.

Well done to you for trying to get back into fitness and good luck
